Hebru Brantley: Flyboy Bronze (Classic)
Artist Hebru Brantley
Sculpture in bronze created using traditional lost-wax casting. The classic red/brown patina was achieved by coating the sculpture in potassium sulphide, which forms a deep brown base colour, and then applying ferric nitrate. At each stage, the sculpture was subjected to intense heat to trigger the chemical reactions that create the piece’s unique colour. Wax has been applied to seal and protect the final result.
